Texas A&M's squad came in at 5th in the poll, fresh off a 2-0 win over Duke in the Carolina Nike Classic, where the also fell victim to Nort Carolina, 2-1.. The Aggies can boast early season home victories over Darthmouth and the College of Charleston.

Texas comes in at 7th this week, having dropped their previous game, 2-0 to Arizona in Tucson. They were previously unbeaten, having defeated TCU, UCLA and Arizona State.

Both schools have eight games remaining until they square off on October 12 in College Station when one point will be up for grabs in the 2007-2008 State Farm Lone Star Showdown.
