Back to School time in Texas means the beginning of another year of the State Farm Lone Star Showdown, pitting athletes from the state's two largest universities-Texas and Texas A&M- against each other for bragging rights that cover all sports.
The 2007-08 school year is the fourth for the Showdown, and thus far the Longhorns have claimed victory in each of the event's first three seasons. Last year, however, came down to the final few events as the 'Horns outlasted the Aggies, 10.5 to 8.5.
The first State Farm Lone Star Showdown event of the year will match the volleyball teams from Texas and Texas A&M against each other in College Station on Wednesday, October 3rd. Be sure to register to win tickets to that and other State Farm Lone Star Showdown events and check back throughout the year for news, scores and more.
